Serengeti Wakanda Tours & Safaris is a Tanzanian-owned and operated safari company based in Arusha, the gateway to the Northern Circuit. We are TATO members (Tanzania Association of Tour Operators), Tanzania Tourist Board licensed, and consistently top-rated on TripAdvisor and SafariBookings. Every guide, every vehicle and every planner on our team is in-house — no resellers, no overseas call centres, no fixed group departures.

Who we are

Serengeti Wakanda was founded in Arusha by Tanzanians who grew up next to the parks. Our team today is 35 people: 18 senior driver-guides, 6 in-house planners, 4 logistics and ground operations, a small marketing team, and our founders. Every vehicle in our fleet is ours — we don't sub-contract — and every guide is full-time on our payroll with health insurance, retirement contributions and ongoing training.

Our credentials

TATO (Tanzania Association of Tour Operators) — full member. Tanzania Tourist Board — licensed Tour Operator with annual compliance audits. TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice — multiple years, currently rated 5.0 (1,357 reviews), ranked #2 of 4,598 activities in Arusha. SafariBookings — top-rated Tanzania operator, 5.0 (824 reviews). Google Business4.9 stars, 480 reviews, verified.

How we plan trips

Every enquiry is handled by a senior planner — not a junior — within 24 hours. We send three or four itinerary options with honest, fully-broken-out pricing. You revise as much as you want. We hold camps for 7 days while you decide. A 25% deposit confirms, balance is due 60 days before travel. Once you arrive, you meet your guide the night before, brief in full, and travel with the same guide and vehicle for the whole trip. We're on WhatsApp 24/7.

Our fleet and equipment

Our safari fleet is exclusively Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ78 — the industry-standard safari vehicle. Every truck has: pop-up roof, fridge, charging ports (110v inverter), 4-litre water bottle holders per seat, professional binoculars, two-way radio, first-aid kit, recovery gear, and a guide-spec spotting scope. Vehicles are serviced before every single trip — not a calendar interval.

Our guides

Average 10+ years in the parks. Every guide holds a Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority guide certificate plus first-aid certification. Most speak English plus one or two of Swahili, French, German, Italian or Spanish. All are licensed for night drives, walking safaris and out-of-vehicle bush etiquette. We promote internally — many of our senior guides started as spotters or trainees with us.

Pricing philosophy

We price to a real cost. A 7-day mid-range trip starts at USD 395 per person per day because that's what it actually costs to put you in a private Land Cruiser with a senior guide, in good lodges, with park fees paid. We will never publish a USD 199 headline price that quietly excludes park fees, vehicle or guide — that's how the industry's complaint queue gets filled, and we don't play that game.

Responsible tourism

We pay above the regional average to our guides and camp staff. We use camps and lodges that hold WildlifeFriendly, Long Run or Pack-for-a-Purpose certifications wherever possible. 1% of every booking goes to community projects in the villages around Tarangire and Ngorongoro. We don't sell or promote any wildlife interaction that involves captive animals.

Where to find us

Our office is in central Arusha (Sokoine Road area). We're not a virtual brand — drop in any weekday for a coffee, meet the planners, see the vehicles. We're 45 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and 50 minutes from Arusha Airport (ARK).
