A Tanzania safari holiday should feel restful, not exhausting. Our trips are paced for real holidays — not race-around itineraries — with a private vehicle, a senior guide, lodges and camps that don't move you twice in one day, and the kind of small touches (sundowners in the bush, bush picnics, hot-air balloon optional) that make the holiday memorable. We work directly with UK, European, North American and Australian travellers who want the holiday properly planned without the high-street price tag.

What makes a great Tanzania safari holiday

Three things separate a great holiday from a stressful one: pacing, private vehicles and the right guide. Pacing means no more than two camp changes in the safari week — game drives, not driving. Private vehicles mean your own Land Cruiser, every window your own, every decision your own. The right guide means a senior local with 10+ years in the parks, not the first available driver.

We build every itinerary in-house, hand-pick the guide for each booking, and stay on WhatsApp from your first enquiry until you're home.

Direct flights to Tanzania

From the UK, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Qatar and Ethiopian connect London to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) in 12–15 hours with one stop. From mainland Europe, KLM (Amsterdam), Lufthansa (Frankfurt), Qatar (Doha), Turkish (Istanbul) and Ethiopian (Addis) all serve JRO. From North America, the most efficient routes are via Amsterdam, Doha, Istanbul or Addis. We don't book the international flights ourselves (better for your loyalty mileage and refund protection) but we advise on every routing.

Best month for a Tanzania safari holiday

For UK/EU summer holidays (July–August), Tanzania is at its absolute peak — Mara River crossings, dry weather, ideal game viewing. Bookings need to be in 9–12 months ahead. For Christmas and New Year holidays, late December through early January is wonderful but lodges sell out 12+ months ahead. February half-term coincides with calving — extraordinary for families. Easter sits in the long rains so we'd typically suggest March instead.

Ngorongoro and Tarangire are excellent in any month of the year.

What does a Tanzania safari holiday cost?

Realistic per-person, all-inclusive (excluding international flights): 7-day mid-range holiday from USD 2,800, premium from USD 4,500, luxury from USD 8,000. Add Zanzibar 3–5 nights from USD 900 (boutique mid-range) up to USD 4,000+ (luxury) per person. International flights from the UK typically run £700–1,200 economy, £2,500–4,500 business depending on season.

Holiday planning lead times

For July–October and Christmas/New Year, book 9–12 months ahead. For February half-term and Easter, 6–9 months. For green season (April–May, November), 3–6 months is comfortable. Last-minute holidays (under 8 weeks) are still possible — message us on WhatsApp.

Booking, deposits & financial protection

We're a Tanzanian-registered company (TATO member, Tanzania Tourist Board licensed). 25% deposit confirms, balance is due 60 days before travel. Deposits are refundable up to 90 days before departure (less third-party fees). Many guests pair our booking with their own travel-insurance policy — we recommend any policy that covers safari, internal flights, medical evacuation and trip cancellation.
